Friends,
I am seeking a fifth term as Presiding Judge of County Court at Law 1. I am now one of Dallas County’s longest-serving and most experienced civil judges. Like you, I am looking forward to a return to in-person jury trials, and something more like normal court operations, as we move beyond the pandemic. I remain as dedicated as ever to serving my court, the community, and the needs of our civil justice system.
Elected by my judicial peers, I currently serve as Local Administrative County Judge of all the Statutory County Courts in Dallas County. I also received a Certificate of Special Competence in Civil Jurisprudence from the Texas College for Judicial Studies.
I have actively contributed to the judiciary through my prior service on the Curriculum Committee, Nominations Committee, and By-laws Committee of the Texas Center for Judiciary. I am also an active member in the National Association of Women Judges, the International Association of Women Judges, and the National Association for Presiding Judges & Court Executive Officers. I also serve on the Dallas County Dispute Resolution Center Board, and I am a Master in the Mac Taylor Inn of Court.
I humbly ask for your support as I campaign for re-election and continued service to the community as Judge of County Court at Law 1.
Sincerely,
Hon. D’Metria Benson
